EVANS FINISHES THIRD AT TIRRENO-ADRIATICO

World champion Cadel Evans has finished third in the Tirreno-Adriatico, a cycling race in Italy.

Evans completed the seven stage race 12 seconds behind the overall winner, 2000 Giro d’Italia champion Stefano Garzelli.

Evans praised his new team BCM for their support as he prepares the July’s Tour de France.

“BMC boys looked after me like a king all day/week,” Evans wrote on Twitter.

Evans will now prepare for the Criterium International in Corsica later this month where Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador will race against each other for the first time since last year's Tour de France.
